About SHE Mentoring Network

She Mentoring Network was founded by Katherine N Johnson. Katherine was born into a low income family and was raised in a low income community. Her mom was a single parent for the majority of her childhood. Katherine did not have any positive role models that looked like her during her childhood. Most of her family and relatives only completed high school.

Katherine found inspiration from her grandfather and teachers. She committed herself to excelling academically and doing well in school. She always knew that she wanted to make something of herself and become successful. She joined the military right after high school.

Katherine is thankful for the mentors and military superiors that supported her. They provided wisdom, guidance and direction that was instrumental to her success. They saw something in her and pushed her to work hard and stay focused. She recognizes the value that positive role models provide to young adults.

SHE Mentoring Network was born from Katherine’s desire to provide young girls with positive role models where there would otherwise be none. To give them education, tools and resources to support their personal growth and development. To empower them to believe in themselves so that they can step fully into their inherent greatness.
